Ayurveda is a simple, practical science of life, the principles and practices of which evolved through many centuries. It is based on the eternal wisdom of people who acquired the knowledge from experience and meditation. In simple words, Whatever is right, good and proper for happy life is Ayurveda.
Ayurveda is the oldest scientific medical system available in the world with a record of clinical experience to validate it. However, it is not only a system of medicine in the conventional sense of curing disease; and also not just a 'Science of Life', though the biological sciences, no doubt, form part of the theory and practice of Ayurveda. It is the philosophy of life, art of living and a science of longevity.
Ayurveda, now recognized as an alternate system of medicine, should be projected globally as a main stream medical system. What we want is the ayurveda of today and tomorrow.
But In the present global scenario saturated with modern medicine, the entry point of ayurveda should be at the appropriate slot, and off course with the appropriate dialogue. Though the global proliferation of ayurveda has opened up new vistas to the science and its stake holders, these golden gates demand optimal global standards from ayurveda, especially in the field of ayurvedic education.
Teamwork and standardization becomes an essentiality in this respect. We, the ayurvedic people should be able to communicate effectively in every field related to our science. This is where the relevance of a standardized ayurvedic fraternity become relevant.
